Feel free to stop by for general information regarding Municipality services.

Water

In the towns/villages the hot-and cold-water supply and sewerage/ drainage system is run by Norðurþing. It depends on where you live how you pay for it. If you own your own house, you pay hot and cold water and your council tax on your home. If you live in an apartment building sometimes it is paid for the whole building and you pay a share. If you rent, usually your landlord pays all this, and you don’t pay any bills other than rent.

Húsavík and Reykjahverfi

Hot-and cold-water supply and sewerage/ drainage system is run by Orkuveita Húsavíkur, that is owned by the Municipality.
