Gaum's fourth annual meeting will take place on the 2nd of December. The theme of the meeting is greenhouse gas emissions and how they can be tackled through changes in land use, the energy transition of the transport fleet, and sustainable transport. <\/p>\n

J\u00f3na Bjarnad\u00f3ttir, Managing Director at Landsvirkjun, will open the meeting. The chair will be Dagbj\u00f6rt J\u00f3nsd\u00f3ttir, Mayor of \u00deingeyjarsveit. <\/p>\n

The keynote speakers at the Gaum annual meeting are Sveinn Margeirsson, Sigurl\u00edna Tryggvad\u00f3ttir and Sigur\u00f0ur Ingi Fri\u00f0leifsson. Sveinn will discuss opportunities in greenhouse gas sequestration through land-use change, Sigurl\u00edna will talk about afforestation projects within N\u00fdsk\u00f6pun \u00ed nor\u00f0ri, and Sigur\u00f0ur Ingi will discuss the development of the vehicle fleet in the Gaum monitoring area and sustainable transport. <\/p>\n

Following the presentations, there will be a question and discussion session. <\/p>\n

The meeting begins at 12:00 with a light lunch: meat soup and soup of the day with homemade bread, coffee, tea, cocoa and biscuits. <\/p>\n
