Húsavík offers grat variety of shops and services.   IHúsvík you can find everything you need. Sport clothing and shoe store, home décor and fashion, bookstore, hardware store, liquor store, pharmacy, bakery and much more. There is a discount grocery store Nettó and  Krambúðin a super marked   

In Kópasker is a small grocery store and café, Skerjakolla 

In Raufarhöfn is a grocery store Gunnubúð. 

Discounts and membership

In the area many services and shops have a special discount if you have KEA discount card or phone app including Netto and Krambud. You can apply for one if you have your residency in the area. Only the person that has the name on the card/app can use it. At the moment it costs 500kr. per year. Petrol stations have their own discount cards which you can get from them directly or from each station

Transport Bus

The bus company in the area is Strætó. There is only one bus route including Husavik which is the route Akureyri – Húsavík,  Húsavík- Akureyri   

Transport Air

There is an airport in Aðaldalur, next to Húsavík. It is the airport of EagleAir which offers flights between Húsavík and Reykjavík.  

For transport from the airport

There is also an airport in Þórshöfn where Air Iceland Connect offers flights between  Þórshöfn and Reykjavík.   

From the larger airport at Akureyriyou can fly to Reykjavík with Air Iceland Connect. But note that the buses to Akureyri do not connect with flights. 

Travel and hiking around Norðurþing 

The northeast of Iceland has a lot to offer and the most beautiful sights are easily reachable from Húsavík. Some of them are well known by know, some are still hidden gems. The Vatnakökull National park and UNESCO world heritage as well Mývatn area is just around the corner. There are many beautiful hiking trails around and perfect for a short evening stroll or an entire day trip.
