Tomorrow, Thursday, the fourth seminar of the North-East Knowledge Network will take place, where research and projects carried out in the region will be presented. The topics for tomorrow's seminar are extremely varied.
Sigurlaug Dagsdóttir, the designer of the exhibition The Laxá Dispute: Dawn of Nature Conservation in Iceland, will talk about the exhibition and its creation. Margrét Hildur Egilsdóttir was a university student on a summer placement with the Knowledge Network of Þingeyjar in the summer of 2021. There, she worked on the interview project "Stories from the Countryside", in which she interviewed several older residents of the Mývatn area, and the results were published on a podcast. Óli Halldórsson will present a research project that the staff of the Knowledge Network worked on in collaboration with the staff of Nýheimar in Höfn, Hornafjörður. The project is called Revolutions and Population Development: The Impact of the Fourth Industrial Revolution on Iceland. Finally, Gréta Bergrún Jóhannesdóttir, a former employee of the Knowledge Network and a PhD student at the University of Akureyri, will present some of the findings from her research on gossip in the talk "A Tale to the Next Town".
