The Knowledge Network is a non-profit organization that performs a variety of public service roles. The organization bases its operations, among other things, on operating agreements with the state/ministry, where specific projects are implemented through agreements, usually for several years. These agreements form the backbone of the organization's operations in addition to self-generated funds (sales of services, course operations, consulting work, competitive funds, etc.).
Húsavík academic center has established policies that apply to all of the organization's operations. These policies are managed in one place and cover continuing education, equality, human resources, privacy, service recipient rights, bullying/harassment, and ethics.
The policies were last updated and confirmed at the annual meeting of the Icelandic Parliament's board on June 20, 2023.
