What is a competency assessment?
- Validation is the confirmation and assessment of an individual's skills, regardless of how or where they were acquired. The aim of validation is to recognise the skills an individual possesses at a given point in time, so that they do not need to study what they know or progress in their work. Validation is based on the fact that it is possible to identify and describe existing skills and to define, assess and recognise them.
- Assessment of actual skills is a great incentive for individuals in the labor market to study and gives them the opportunity to complete their studies on their own terms.
- Assessment of actual skills can be an incentive for adults in the labor market, in various professions, to complete formal education. This strengthens their position, that of the professions, companies, and the nation in general in terms of knowledge level and advancement.
