Centre for Business and Innovation in Tórshavn

Langanesbyggð and The Thingeyrar Network have now signed an agreement for work on the preparation for the establishment of an employment and innovation centre at Fjarðarvegur 5 in Þórshöfn, which will include, among other things, facilities for workstations for remote working.
The work involves needs analysis, development and shaping of the operation, with hopes that the centre will be ready by spring. Staff from the Knowledge Network and Langanesbyggð are involved in this work. A working group has been formed for the project, which includes representatives from Langanesbyggð, the Knowledge Network, and SSNE. A grant was received from the Equalisation Fund for Local Authorities in connection with the merger of the municipalities of Langanesbyggð and Svalbarðshreppur for the project, and it will be used to prepare the work.
The contract was signed by Heiðrún Óladóttir, project manager of the Knowledge Network in Tórshavn, and Björn S. Lárusson, the mayor. Also present were Óli Halldórsson, director of ÞÞ, and Gréta Bergrún Jóhannesdóttir, who is involved in the project on behalf of ÞÞ.
