Today at the Þingeyja Knowledge Network, we had a good time with our students from the 'Skills for the Labour Market' programme, their families, workplace contacts, teachers, and a contact from the Employment Service. The occasion was that three students were completing their studies on the 'Skills for the Labour Market' programme.
The 'Skills in the Labour Market' curriculum is the result of a project by the Ministry of Social Affairs and the Labour Market, which aims to increase educational and career opportunities for disabled people. The project is a collaboration between Fjölmennt, Vinnumálastofnun and the Fræðslumiðstöð atvinnulífsins, and focuses on education and training to enhance students' skills for participation in the labour market.
Teaching began on 16 September and was divided into 70 hours of theoretical study and 110 hours of work-based learning in workplaces. Five students started the course, but due to unavoidable reasons, two of them had to drop out. Dögg Stefánsdóttir was the lead tutor for the course.
The three who graduated today pursued their studies exceptionally well, their attendance and engagement were exemplary, and by fulfilling all the competency criteria in the programme, they graduated today with a Professional Certificate.
