The Network of Knowledge of the Thingeying has this year organised three events in the spirit of the Westfjords project. „Let's give Iceland a chance“ with the aim of supporting Icelandic language learning and creating a platform for all residents to have a fun chat. The project is based on the idea that a language is best learnt through interaction and that it is essential to meet people exactly where they are in their Icelandic language learning.
The events took place at Skjólbrekka in Mývatnssveit, where native speakers and learners of Icelandic came together to take part in an open conversation about everyday life. Group leaders led the discussions, creating a friendly atmosphere where everyone had the opportunity to use and practise the language., to talk about many things, great and small.
The KEA Cultural Fund supports the project.
The next event in the series will be held in November and will be advertised in more detail later.
