The Network of Thingeyinga is seeking a Director.
The Knowledge Network is a centre for lifelong learning, research, higher education and innovation in the north-eastern corner of the country, within the Þingeyjarsýslur. The Knowledge Network is a regional, composite organisation that handles a diverse range of projects and operates, among other things,. Hraðið centre of innovation and FabLab Húsavík.

The Knowledge Network is a leading party in the development and establishment of knowledge-based activities in the region, including the formation and operation The working class in Húsavík and other industrial clusters in the region.
Key responsibilities and duties
- Responsibility and oversight of finance and operations
- Project negotiation and financing
- Strategic planning and diverse development work related to the operations
- Human Resources
- Marketing, promotion and image
- Working to strengthen regional knowledge work
- Various other projects in consultation with the board
Educational and competency requirements
- Higher education that is useful in the job
- Knowledge of management, operations and human resources
- A solid understanding of the Knowledge Network's areas of expertise
- Initiative and the ability to work on development and new ideas
- Leadership skills and a positive attitude
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills
- Skills in international communication
- Good computer skills and tech-savvy
- Good command of spoken and written Icelandic.
The director's place of work and daily presence is at Stéttin in Húsavík, where Húsavík Academic Centre has its head office. The centre is one of the pillars of the settlements and communities in the area. Active participation in the local community is therefore a prerequisite for the appointment of the director, and year-round residency is a condition. Furthermore, the director must be prepared to work towards the organisation's objectives with great enthusiasm throughout the entire area of operation.,
Provinces, including through a regular presence at the Knowledge Network's sites, in addition to its head office.
