On Thursday, 3rd September, an Open House was held at Stéttinni in Húsavík, where organisations in social, cultural, sports and leisure activities presented their work to residents.
Around a hundred guests attended the event. They had the opportunity to move between the stands, chat and find out about the many opportunities available in the community. For many, it was also an opportunity to find new hobbies, get information about activities that interested them, or sign up to take part.
The diversity of participants was remarkable. Among them were sports clubs, cultural groups, charities and various other community organisations, all of which play a part in making the community strong and vibrant. The information day provided a good overview of the wide range of activities available for people of all ages.
The event is part of the project. Those who want to understand will understand., which aims to promote participation in the community, strengthen the bonds between residents and create more opportunities for people to meet and get to know each other.
