The course is suitable for both beginners and those who wish to increase their knowledge of using CNC milling cutters and digital manufacturing.
The course will cover:
✅ Safety and use of CNC milling cutters
✅ Design and drawing in VCarve
✅ How drawings are transferred to the router
✅ Using FabLab tools for carpentry and other woodworking projects
✅ How to customise a project to your own needs
Upon completion of the course, participants are authorised to use the large CNC milling machine in FabLab Húsavík and can then begin to build their own projects with assistance from the staff as required.
The tasks can, for example, be:
• A children's playhouse or theatre
• Dog kennel
• Cat enclosure or outdoor area for a cat
• Garden house or outdoor kitchen
• Other bespoke build projects
Please note: Materials for the construction itself are not included in the course fee and must be purchased by participants. All other material costs incurred during the course are included.
