Specialised Resuscitation I (ILS – Immediate Life Support)
Target group
Healthcare professionals who rarely carry out resuscitation but still need to be able to respond and participate in it, e.g. nurses, nursing and medical students, and paramedics.
Objective
The aim is to train healthcare staff in actions to prevent cardiac arrest, to apply basic life support, i.e. cardiopulmonary resuscitation and defibrillation, until specialised assistance arrives. The purpose of this training is to make the staff member more capable of participating in resuscitation as a member of the team.
Contents
The course is based on the standards of the European Resuscitation Council (2025 edition) and is taught accordingly. The course is composed of lectures, practical exercises and discussions. Lectures cover the causes and prevention of cardiac arrest and the procedures for resuscitation. In practical sessions, the emphasis is on primary survey and resuscitation, rescue breaths, and teamwork in resuscitation. The emphasis is on practical exercises and active student participation.

Number of participants
The minimum number is 12 students.
