Do you have a child in sport or leisure activities? Are you a teacher, coach, or involved in children's sport and leisure activities? Then this course could be for you!
Together in the matter is a new development project where parents of children of foreign origin learn Icelandic, which is useful in daily life, in communication with schools, sports clubs, coaches and other community activities.
This will also be suitable for people for whom Icelandic is a second language who wish to improve their Icelandic skills in relation to sports and leisure activities.
Practical Icelandic course which helps participants to gain more confidence in using Icelandic in everyday situations related to children's sports and social activities. Participants improve their language skills to connect better with the community and take a more active part in their children's social activities.
We practise Icelandic in real-life situations.
Teaching is based on dialogue, participation and practical tasks.
The aim is for participants to become more confident in Icelandic and to take a more active part in the lives of their children and in the community.
The course is part of the development project. Together in the matter, which is supported by The Ministry of Education and Children's Affairs and produced in collaboration with Norðurþing and Völsung.
Starts: 1 September 2026 and is ongoing 10 weeks or a total of 40 hours
Tuesday and Thursday. Clock: 17:00 – 18:30
