Exciting courses at the Fablab this autumn

Fablab Húsavík is one of the best-equipped Fablabs in the country. Our strategy at the Continuing Education Department of the Knowledge Network is to make much better use of it from next autumn onwards. We have been training teachers, teaching them about the equipment and the possibilities available at Fablab Húsavík. Now we want to invite everyone to come and see, get to know, try, learn and create. In August and September, we will be offering three courses: Fabric Labelling, Laser Cutting and Vinyl Glass Labelling.

Clothing labels.

The process from concept to creation will be covered. You will create designs/images on clothing of your choice. Please bring a T-shirt or an item of clothing to decorate. No experience is required. You will be taught how to use the Inkscape programme, and we will be using a laser and vinyl.

Laser cutting.

The laser cutter will be used. Students will make a box or case from Perspex. The participant's design will be drawn up in the Inkscape programme and created on the laser cutter.

Vinyl glass decals.

A two-evening course. You will make a sticker for a window, decorated with ornaments or signs. An ideal opportunity to decorate your home's windows or to mark the occupants in a porch window.

Registration here.

Please note that the courses are open to all, and we encourage participants to check their eligibility for a reimbursement of the participation fee with their trade union.

It would be sheer madness not to take up the fight. All you have to do is go to www.hac.is and sign up for the course that appeals to you the most – or just all three!

We look forward to seeing you.
