Cultural exchange in Tórshavn

Yesterday, we held a multicultural event in Thórshöfn, the aim of which was to showcase the diverse cultures found in our municipality. The event is part of the 'Cultural Exchange' project and is supported by the Development Fund of East Northland. Residents were invited to the Holtið restaurant, which served a delicious vegetable soup and freshly baked bread, while seven residents gave a variety of interesting and entertaining presentations. It was a fun and pleasant event where we got to know our wonderful residents better. The event was sponsored by the SSNE Development Fund.

Vivian Stoyanova from Bulgaria presented her country and people.
Liina Bergmann from Estonia told about Christmas traditions in her home country.
Hallsteinn Stefánsson told stories from his life as a sailor, having sailed the world's oceans.
Ina Leverköhne displayed various items related to her childhood Christmases in Germany, as well as reciting a poem and singing a Christmas song, of course in German.
Ilia Iliev from Bulgaria sang a Bulgarian folk song, a version of which is on the golden record aboard the Voyager 2 spacecraft.
Irene Paparo from Italy presented the culinary traditions of her region, Emilia-Romagna.
The Potrykus family from Poland introduced Polish Christmas traditions and sang a Polish Christmas carol.
