New board of the Knowledge Network

On Monday, 27th April, the annual general meeting of the Þingeyinga Knowledge Network was held in accordance with the organisation's articles of association.

On Monday, 27th April, the annual general meeting of the Þingeyinga Knowledge Network was held in accordance with the organisation's articles of association.

The agenda included the usual business of the annual general meeting, and the board presented the annual report along with the annual accounts for the previous financial year and a plan for the coming year's activities, as stipulated in the articles of association. The board's annual report was also reviewed, and nominations for board membership were presented.

According to the articles of association, five representatives sit on the board of the Knowledge Network, appointed for two-year terms. When appointing the board, emphasis is placed on reflecting the organisation's main areas of activity: continuing education, research, university services and innovation. Nominations for the board are received from a diverse range of sources, including trade unions or employers, the higher education community, the innovation sector, further education colleges, and local authorities within the Knowledge Network's area of operation.

The following board was appointed at the meeting:

· Jón Höskuldsson – (substitute: Sigurður Þór Guðmundsson)

· Freyr Friðfinnsson (sub. Atli Björgvinsson)

·      Halldór Jón Gíslason (substitute: Sigurbjörn Árni Arngrímsson)

· Sæunn Stefánsdóttir (substitute: Rannveig Björnsdóttir)

· Yngvi Ragnar Kristjánsson (sub. Aneta Potrikus) 

Following the annual general meeting, the new board elected Jón Höskuldsson as its next chairman.
