Representatives from Hráðsinn recently participated in the TONIK innovation conference held in Þórshöfn in the Faroe Islands. The conference is at the forefront of innovation events in the Nordic countries and was very well attended this time with over 700 guests, speakers and other participants from all over the world.
Hraðið var hluti af öflugum hópi frá Norðurlandi eystra, þar sem saman komu fulltrúar frá Hraðinu, Drift EA og SSNE, ásamt fimm glæsilegum frumkvöðlateymum af svæðinu: Nanna Lín, Grænafl, Unnur Verkbókhald, Quality Console og Sea Thru. Öll teymin tóku þátt í pitch-keppni TONIK og stóðu sig afar vel. Þau kynntu verkefnin sín af öryggi og metnaði fyrir alþjóðlegum gestum, fjárfestum og öðrum áhugasömum.
Eitt af því sem stóð upp úr var sameiginlegur viðburður sem Hraðið, Drift EA og SSNE héldu á ráðstefnunni. Þar fengu frumkvöðlarnir að kynna verkefnin sín með stuttum kynningum og í kjölfarið myndaðist lífleg og skemmtileg tengslamyndun. Viðburðurinn var vel sóttur og áhuginn á því sem er að gerast á Norðurlandi var greinilegur. Hraðið lagði áherslu á að kynna HönnunarÞingið og áherslur þess í ár. Gaman var að sjá hversu margir höfðu heyrt af hátíðinni og voru áhugasamir um að koma og taka þátt.
The group also visited exciting companies in the Faroe Islands to learn about innovation in existing companies. Among the companies visited were fishing companies and other companies with high-tech solutions related to food storage. These visits provided a good insight into how innovation and technology are a new force in the Faroese economy.
What remains most striking, however, is how much innovation and its support system are thriving in Northeastern Iceland. The collaboration between Hráðsinn, Drift EA and SSNE has grown significantly in recent months and is starting to translate into stronger teams, greater visibility and stronger connections to the outside world. The TONIK trip was a fun confirmation that we are on the right track and that what is happening here is drawing attention.
We came home full of inspiration and new connections. Our area is full of exciting ideas and energy that we look forward to seeing grow and thrive in the coming months.
