Practical skills assessment

To shorten your studies

The Knowledge Network's practical skills assessment has been very successful and there has been good participation among those who want to have their experience and knowledge assessed for study. Practical skills assessment gives individuals the opportunity to have skills they have acquired on the job assessed, which can shorten the study time and facilitate the path to formal education.

The Knowledge Network has recently been conducting practical skills assessments in service sectors, paramedics and, in collaboration with Iðuna, in industrial sectors.

In recent years, many have successfully used this important resource. Experience shows that competency assessment can be a powerful tool for people who have acquired extensive professional knowledge but have not completed formal education in the relevant field. The process has proven to be both positive and constructive for participants, creating new opportunities for continued learning and professional development.

We would like to encourage anyone interested in a practical skills assessment to contact us and learn about the options. To be eligible for a practical skills assessment, the person must have at least three years of work experience in the profession and be 23 years of age.

A skills assessment can be the first step towards further education, increased professional qualifications or new opportunities in the job market. Our staff provides more information about the process and helps interested parties assess the next steps. You can contact hac@hac.is for more information.
