Practical skills assessment

Are you interested in exploring whether an assessment of your practical skills is a possibility for you?

What is a practical skills assessment?

  • A competency assessment is the recognition and evaluation of an individual's skills, regardless of how or where they were acquired. The aim of a competency assessment is to recognise an individual's existing skills at a given time, so that they do not have to undertake training in what they already know or can progress in their career. A competency-based assessment is based on the principle that it is possible to identify and describe existing competencies, and to define, assess and recognise them.
  • The assessment of practical skills is a great incentive to study for individuals in the workforce and gives them the opportunity to complete their studies on their own terms.
  • The assessment of practical skills can be an incentive for adults in the labour market, across various professions, to complete formal education. This strengthens the position of the individual, the professional bodies, the companies and the nation as a whole in terms of knowledge levels and development.
